Quite amused at a news-wire from Workplace Savings and Benefits that I have just read.
Apparently the Work and Pensions Committee have called for the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) to launch an immediate review of the NEST restrictions (which we have covered before on this blog). To read more on this see this link: http://goo.gl/qPPIJ
But why am I amused at this story? Well, it’s because the DWP have been undertaking exactly that exercise since before Christmas, and the results of this review will be published ‘in the spring’.
Perhaps the Committee are trying to exert some extra pressure on the DWP in advance of that decision. But the wording does suggest that there may be a lack of joined-up thinking at the top level here.
Either way, when the results of the call for evidence are announced, I will of course cover this on the blog.
