Many of you will recall that the Sickness Absence Review (SAR) was issued at the tail-end of last year. One of the reports (many) recommendations was the concept of introducing a tax-break to encourage greater use of Private Medical Insurance.
For some of my original thoughts on this subject, please see this link to last year’s blog post: https://www.jelfgroup.com/blog/2011/12/tax-breaks-on-medical-treatments/
At our recent event in London, which as ever was well attended by a large number of employers, we asked the audience where they felt such tax breaks should be targeted.
The results were issued in a press release last week, and I attach a link to one publication’s coverage of this story:

Experience suggests that articles like this really do contribute to keeping these topics and conversations at the forefront of the policy-makers minds, so my thanks to all those that voted.
Clearly, this is a story that we will stay on top of, and we will of course continue to update you via the blog and events.
Best regards.
