Our first event of 2012…

The hugely succesful Jelf Employment Seminars continue, and I am pleased to announce our first event of 2012. Our latest event is entitled ‘All Change’, and promises to be a great way to get delegates up and running for the year ahead.

As usual, we will be fielding our range of expert educators, speaking on important topics of true relevance to UK employers. The speakers are chosen for both their subject knowledge, and ability to communicate important subjects in an accessible and relaxed style. The full agenda includes Employment Law, Positive Psychology, how to tackle the UK Protection Gap and, of course, Employee Benefits. For full details please see later in this post.

Our superb venue is The London Transport Museum in Covent Garden. Situated in one of the most vibrant tourist and shopping districts of the capital, the museum houses a wealth of interactive displays charting the history of transport in the capital city, including canals, trams, buses and tube trains. Access to the museum is free to all delegates (the usual entry price is £13.50). It goes without saying that the museum is easily accessible by all methods of public transport!

The Agenda:

Session 1: Positive Psychology: ‘Making work more rewarding’’

A combination of the tough economic environment and significant advances in technology is resulting in greater pressure (and breadth of responsibility) on all of us. So how should we adapt to these challenges?

A top business coach, Pete will look at methods and practical tips to control these issues, including motivation, goals, and Positive Psychology.

Speaker: Pete Freeman, Executive Coach, Freeman Coaching

Session 2: The Protection Gap: ‘Reading the map’

Most are aware of the ‘Savings Gap’, but the less well known ‘Protection Gap’ is a much more immediate danger to many millions of UK employees and their families.

Marco will guide delegates through recent research and supporting facts on this important topic, and suggest ways that employers can help employees, whilst also generate a return to the business at the same time.

Speaker: Marco Forato, Chief Marketing Officer, UNUM

Session 3: Employment Law: ’Magic Bus Driver’

In preparation for April 2012, Tim will take us on a limited-stop tour of the Government’s reforms, pausing to slow-drive around ‘Protected Conversations’, a cluster of Holiday cases, and protecting your Confidential Information from leaking.

One of the most informative and entertaining speakers on the seminar circuit, this is a necessary session for all delegates.

Speaker: Tim Randles, Associate, Penningtons Solicitors LLP

Session 4: Employee Benefits: ‘From Grange Hill to Mornington Crescent (via Westminster)’

In 2011 there was huge change to the legislative framework of Employee Benefits, and the pace of change shows no signs of slacking in 2012 and beyond.

Topics covered will include an initial view on the long awaited ‘Sickness Absence Review’, Pensions Auto-enrolment, and the increase to the State Pension Age.

Speaker: Steve Herbert, Head of Benefits Strategy, Jelf Employee Benefits
