We are pleased to announce out latest event in the NW of England.
As we are all aware, the last few years have presented many changes and challenges to all aspects of the world of employment. Given this, we thought a title of ‘Life Goes On’ for this event would be appropriate!
Our superb venue is The Manchester Museum which hosts 12 galleries with subjects as diverse as prehistoric life (including a T-rex), Ancient Egypt and a gallery of live reptiles. Delegates can access all the displays for free after the event. The venue is centrally located, and close to rail and bus connections. Car parking is also available nearby.

09:45 Employee Wellbeing: ‘Addiction of the species’
Addiction to drugs or alcohol in your employees can be difficult to spot, and potentially damaging to the individual’s wellbeing, team morale, and the productivity of your organisation.
To help you spot the signs, and provide some plain speaking guidance and actions, we are delighted to welcome Edmund Tirbutt to our seminar programme. Edmund is the bestselling author of ‘Beat the Booze’, a multi-award winning national journalist, and a former stand-up comic. Given his background and expertise, he has been building a reputation as a highly entertaining speaker on this important topic.
Speaker: Edmund Tirbutt, Author of ‘Beat the Booze’
10:30 Break, refreshments and networking
11:00 Employment Law: ‘Evolution’
For many, employment law is a static subject, only reviewed in moments of crisis. So how can this change? This session will focus on how delegates can evolve their roles to both deliver a stronger contribution in this area and isolate the pressure points in employment disputes. An update on recent cases and developments will also be included.
An informative and necessary session for delegates, laced with Tim’s trade-mark humour.
Speaker: Tim Randles, Penningtons Solicitors LLP
11:30 Employee Benefits: ‘Natural Selection: Adapt to survive’
After years of preparation and talk, changes in employee benefits have finally arrived. The National Employment Savings Trust is now a reality, and the Pensions Bill is passing through parliament. Many other UK and European edicts will have an impact on the future Employee Benefits landscape. What do the proposed changes mean for you, what action should you be taking and when?
Steve will guide delegate through this increasingly complex area with his unusual, but instructive, approach to the issues of the day.
Speaker: Steve Herbert, Jelf Employee Benefits
