I did promise that I would start announcing the dates of our 2011 events on the blog, to give those of you who are following this a head start on grabbing a place (our first event in London last October attracted a capacity audience and a long waiting list!).
So, with that in mind, the details are as below:
JELF EMPLOYMENT SEMINAR: ‘Life goes on’
- Venue: The Natural History Museum in central London (which is, of course, easy to get to by all forms of public transport)
- Date: Friday the 4th February, 2011
- Timings: 09:00 - 12:00
- CPD: The seminar will qualify for 2 hours CPD
- Delegate Cost: Free
All delegates have free access to the Natural History Museum and collection after the event. Morning refreshments and lunchtime drinks are also provided free of charge.
AGENDA:
09:00 - 09:40 Registration, coffee and networking
09:40 Welcome
09:45 Employee Wellbeing: ‘Addiction of the species’
Addiction to drugs or alcohol in your employees can be difficult to spot, and potentially damaging to the individual’s wellbeing, team morale, and the productivity of your organisation.
To help you spot the signs, and provide some plain speaking guidance and actions, we are delighted to welcome Edmund Tirbutt to our seminar programme. Edmund is the bestselling author of ‘Beat the Booze’, a multi-award winning national journalist, and a former stand-up comic. Given his background and expertise, he has been building a reputation as a highly entertaining speaker on this important topic.
Speaker: Edmund Tirbutt, Author of ‘Beat the Booze’
10:30 Break and refreshments
11:00 Employment Law: ‘Evolution’
For many, employment law is a static subject, only reviewed in moments of crisis. So how can this change? This session will focus on how delegates can evolve their roles to both deliver a stronger contribution in this area and isolate the pressure points in employment disputes. An update on recent cases and developments will also be included.
Many will have seen Tim present before, and have benefited from his straight-forward approach. An informative and necessary session for delegates, laced with humour.
Speaker: Tim Randles, Laytons
11:30 Employee Benefits: ‘Natural Selection: Adapt to survive’
After years of preparation and talk, changes in employee benefits are finally here. The National Employment Savings Trust (NEST) goes live in early 2011, and there are significant changes to Childcare Vouchers, Higher Rate Tax Relief, Bikes for Work and Healthcare to consider. What do the changes mean for you, what actions should you be taking and when?
Widely known to the London audience, Steve will guide delegates through this complex area with his usual fast paced and off-the-wall approach to his subjects.
Speaker: Steve Herbert, Jelf Employee Benefits
12:00 Closing comments, Seminar concludes
12:05 Drinks in the foyer, informal Q&A sessions with the speakers, networking opportunity and museum access.
