After years in the making, it finally appears that action may about to be taken on capping the charges of workplace pensions schemes (or at least those used for Auto-Enrolment).
The following link takes you to an article from the Professional Pensions website which suggests that the DWP are about to launch the formal consultation in this respect (today apparently). http://goo.gl/ekgVEE
Much as I don’t relish yet another consultation document to read (I seem to have spent much of the last few months reading and commentating on similar items across the entire employee benefits space), this one has the potential to be really important for employers (particularly given Auto-Enrolment), and also somewhat quicker enacted than many of the other works in progress. So I will be looking into this as soon as time allows, and more will follow on this blog.
