British expats in Indonesia might see property prices rise following the implementation of a new law that entitles foreigners to buy property in Jakarta, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Indonesia’s economy has been largely unaffected by the global uncertainties and is enjoying strong growth, which has attracted many expats in search of job opportunities. This has resulted in an increased demand for rental property because foreigners have so far been banned from owning property in Jakarta.
