As you may have noticed, there has been rather a lot of Government led changes (both proposed and actual) since the summer break, and I have been asked to comment on these changes by two excellent websites that I would recommend to our followers.
The first site is HRBullets, and the attached link will take you through to a lengthy article I have written which seeks to tie-up all three Government papers, and what they might mean for employers that are seeking to comply with Auto-Enrolment duties: http://goo.gl/vHWgRn
And there are also some of my comments at the foot of an article on the Learn Payroll & HR pages and can be viewed here: http://goo.gl/RwdpgU
As you can tell from these articles, the pensions landscape is currently looking rather confused, and it will be interesting to see the next steps from the Government. Some employers may be tempted to see these changes as a reason to delay action on Auto-Enrolment (AE) compliance, so I would like to impress on our readers that the AE Staging dates remain non-negotiable: You simply must comply by the date set.
So please don’t stop planning for AE, but be aware that additional changes and requirements may still be on the way.
Best regards
Steve
