Local charity is a winner as Jelf turns the sky purple at Head Office opening
The sky above Chipping Sodbury turned purple today, as Jelf held an event to officially open their brand new UK head office on Bowling Hill.
500 bio-degradable balloons have been released by the company, which provides expert advice to businesses and individuals on insurance, employee benefits, healthcare and financial planning, as part of a huge fundraising effort for Bristol based charity “It’s in the Bag”, which supports men in the South West with Testicular Cancer.
Clients and staff alike purchased the balloons, which are now taking part in a race across the UK. The owner of the balloon that travels the furthest will win a hot air balloon flight for two, kindly donated by PWC, and Jelf will also be providing a prize for the person who returns the winning tag. Donations are still being received but the team hope to have raised over £1000.
The fundraising was an ideal backdrop to the official opening event, which saw 150 guests gather at the new Hillside Court premises. Group Chief Executive Alex Alway, and Jelf founder and Deputy Chairman, Chris Jelf, were on hand to show the guests around the new offices, which have been selected to maximise support for the company’s expansion plans.
Commenting on the event, Alex Alway, Group Chief Executive for Jelf said: “It’s been fantastic to welcome so many key members of the local business community to our new head office. As a leading employer in the area, it’s very important to us that we are able to provide a modern work environment for our people, with plenty of room to grow and the technology to provide an excellent service to our clients. We are also committed to being part of, and contributing fully to, the local community in which we all live and work, so it was great to also take the opportunity to raise funds for “It’s in the Bag”.
