We take a look at how Jelf Claims Consultancy dealt with a client who suffered a major fire that resulted in a loss of excess £2m. The business was back up and running from a temporary location within 4 days of the incident.
Our client Winstanley & Co Ltd are market leaders in specialist fabrication, so of course their premises, stock and equipment are vital for the continued success of their business. On a Sunday a major fire engulfed over 50% of Winstanely & Co Ltd.’s building, stock and machinery. Below you can read about the steps Jelf Claims Consultancy took to help them recover from this loss in as quick a time as possible.
Day one
Our client reported the fire the day it happened. Andy Holmes, of Jelf Claims Consultancy attended the damaged premises that very Sunday so recovery could take place as soon as possible.
24 Hours
Jelf Claims Consultancy worked with the management team from Winstanely and within 24 hours of the fire, had found alternative, temporary premises, and equipped it with furniture and computer equipment.
48 Hours
Key customers of Winstanely & Co Ltd were invited to the visit and witness the recovery first hand. This displayed a positive and clear signal to customers that the fire would not affect service.
4 Days
Within four days of the fire, Winstanely & Co Ltd were manufacturing and dispatching stock from the temporary premises.
Reinstatement
Once the true cost of reinstating the damage were established and agreed, including costs to upgrade to current building regulations, the reinstatement process began. Jelf Claims Consultancy then offered Winstanley & Co guidance on the options available, which allowed them to reinstate the premises as a revised design which accomodated and supported future expansion plans.
After the reinstatment Rod Smith said: “The claim has been very complex but has been handled extremely well. We would have no hesitation in recommending this company in futureâ€.
With the quick turn around from the devastating fire to Winstanley & Co becoming operational again, they managed to turn a negative event into a positive one. Showing clients that not only are they prepared for threats but that they can also be relied upon to continue service.
