One of the things we have always prided ourselves on is being able to respond to events in the sector and develop solutions that work for our clients – it is an approach that has kept us at the forefront of the industry.

 

With the advent of yet another challenge to the recruitment sector, Jelf Manson has been busy creating a bespoke legal insurance product to address the changes afoot resulting from the Agency Workers Regulations (AWR), commencing 1st October. We’ve been working with specialist lawyers, insurers and trade federations, such as TEAM & APSCo, to provide a safety net for clients should AWR claims materialise early in 2012.

Because we understand the particular needs of the recruitment sector, we can produce an appropriate, robust product, provided by specialist legal expenses insurers that includes defence costs and damage award cover.  Whilst the nature of these claims is currently unknown and there is no legal precedent, it is important to include this cover in any insurance programme.

It’s important to bear in mind that this is not a substitute for following the correct process.  In fact, now is a great time for recruiters to work closely with clients, to ensure each party shoulders their respective responsibility. Insurance is really the ‘get out of jail’ card if all else fails, but with our expertise in this area, peace of mind can be obtained at competitive terms.
