Many of you will have seen the media coverage, or my recent post, regarding the suggested ’review’ of the long proposed flat-rate state pension. This was apparently ordered by The Prime Minister himself.
So I am a little surprised to see one of his own party, Harriett Baldwin MP, come out in strong terms in support of the flat-rate pension. And this Tory lady has hit the nail on the head. If we don’t have the level state pension for all, then Auto Enrolment will be bad news for an awful lot of pension savers.

I am pleased that this mis-match in thinking is being addressed, and I do hope the policy makers take note. And it’s notable that Ms Baldwin is evidently a lady that is not for a u-turn in policy here. Echos of one Mrs Thatcher perhaps?
