Sales Consultant Personal Lines - Maternity Contract

As our newly appointed Insurance Sales Consultant your focus will be to manage existing clients while also securing new business by following up on warm leads or cross-selling. You will aim to exceed sales targets and promote business development in your area that has been assigned to you.
 
This is a Maternity Cover position and the contract will be up to a period of 12 months, with the possibility of becoming permanent, and access to all internal vacancies across the business.  

This is an exciting and challenging role for someone already working in the Insurance industry as your skills and ambitions will be tested; or someone who is looking to step over to the Insurance industry from a sales background.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience during the interview process:

  • Have experience in a sales/customer service role (personal insurance is preferable)
  • Telesales or telemarketing experience is also desirable
  • Proven ability to work effectively and professionally with colleagues at all levels
  • Be well organised and work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Enthusiastic and motivated
  • Experience in providing excellent customer service and collaborate well with colleagues


The range of policies you will broker for clients include:

  • Motor Insurance
  • Commercial Vehicle Insurance
  • Household and Contents Insurance
  • Travel Insurance
  • Events Insurance i.e. Weddings
  • Non-Standard Household Insurance i.e. Flooding

Your main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the client and establish effective relationships with them
  • Renew clients in line with agreed targets
  • Achieve new business levels in line with agreed targets
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities
  • Provide accurate reports incorporating activity and results
  • Update and maintain records on core systems
  • Work closely with relevant support teams to provide excellent service to clients
  • Collect fees and premium within credit periods in accordance with divisional requirements
